The Theater Machine

The Theater Machine is an interactive installation that transforms the waiting time before a theater performance into an immersive experience. Thanks to body tracking and real-time AI, you become part of the scene – your digital reflection moves with you as you switch between characters and stage settings. Developed in collaboration with Landestheater Linz, the installation can be viewed at the Schauspielhaus in Linz.

Jolanda Abasolo was responsible for the entire implementation in TouchDesigner, prompting, creating content for the UI, and on-site system implementation. The following Paper describes the workflow behind this project:
